Transmission codes that look alike
One transmission number is one model. Some codes are two names for the same unit, some are different transmissions that look almost identical, and some are series codes that cover a whole family of variants. This page separates the three cases so an order is placed against the right unit. Where we say two codes are the same transmission, either code reaches the same parts; where we say they are different, they are not interchangeable.
As a supplier of automatic transmission and gearbox parts, we treat a code as a physical unit, not as a search word: two codes that look alike are quoted as two different items until the casing or the nameplate proves they are the same.
Same transmission, different names
Each line is one unit sold under more than one code. Quote whichever code is printed on your casing — both lead to the same parts.
| Codes | What it is | What to confirm |
|---|---|---|
| 02E / 0D9 / DQ250 | Volkswagen / Audi 02E (DQ250) six-speed wet dual-clutch DSG | 02E is Volkswagen's own code; 0D9 and DQ250 are the same unit, so quote whichever is printed on your casing. |
| 09G / TF60SN / TF-60SN | Aisin 09G / 09M / 09K (TF-60SN) six-speed automatic | The Aisin code TF-60SN and the VW code 09G describe the same gearbox; the 09M / 09K variants are separate build variants of it. |
| 0B5 / DL501 | Audi DL501 seven-speed S tronic (0B5) | 0B5 is the Audi internal code and DL501 is the marketing name. The mechatronic unit part number differs by build year, so send the code on the unit. |
| 722.6 / W5A580 | Mercedes-Benz 722.6 (NAG1 / 5G-Tronic) five-speed automatic | 722.6 is the Mercedes-Benz designation and W5A580 the transmission number stamped on the unit; both refer to the same gearbox. |
| 722.9 / W7A700 | Mercedes-Benz 722.9 (NAG2 / 7G-Tronic) seven-speed automatic | 722.9 and W7A700 refer to the same unit. 722.6 and 722.9 are different gearboxes and their parts do not interchange. |
| AL4 / DP0 / DPO | PSA AL4 / Renault DP0 four-speed automatic | AL4 is the PSA code and DP0 the Renault code for the same gearbox, so parts are quoted against either. |
| TF80SC / AF40 / AM6 | Aisin AW TF-80SC / TF-81SC (F21++ family) | TF-80SC, AF40 (GM / Saab) and AM6 (PSA) are the same Aisin unit under three manufacturer codes. |
| JF0xx / RE0Fxx | Jatco CVT units — Jatco's own JF0xx numbering and the Nissan RE0Fxx numbering | The two numbering systems run in parallel, and the exact pairing depends on the unit, so send the code on the casing rather than converting one to the other. |
| DPS6 / 6DCT250 / PowerShift | Ford DPS6 / 6DCT250 dry dual-clutch (PowerShift) | DPS6 and 6DCT250 are the same dry dual-clutch; DPS6 must not be confused with the 6DCT450, which is a wet unit. |
| 6DCT450 / MPS6 | Getrag 6DCT450 / MPS6 wet dual-clutch (Ford PowerShift) | 6DCT450 and MPS6 are the same wet dual-clutch; it is a different transmission from the DPS6 / 6DCT250 dry unit. |
| DL382 / 0CJ / 0CK / 0CL / 0DN / 0DP / 0HL | Audi DL382 seven-speed wet dual-clutch (S tronic) | DL382 is the family name and the 0CJ / 0CK / 0CL / 0DN / 0DP / 0HL codes identify the individual variants — quote both. |
| RE5R05A / JR507E | Jatco 5R05 (RE5R05A / JR507E / JR509E) five-speed automatic | RE5R05A is the Nissan designation and JR507E the Jatco one for the same unit. |
| RE7R01A / JR710E / JR711E | Jatco JR710E (Nissan / Infiniti RE7R01A) seven-speed automatic | RE7R01A is the Nissan designation and JR710E / JR711E the Jatco ones for the same unit. |
| 025 / QR025CHA / CVT025 / CVT25 | Chery CVT25 — catalogued here as CVT025 | 025, QR025CHA, CVT025 and CVT25 all point to this one Chery CVT. The CTF25 is a different transmission — see the second table. |
Different transmissions — never treated as one part
These codes sit close together in parts lists, but each one is a separate model. We do not merge them and we do not quote one against the other.
| Codes | Why they are different | What to confirm |
|---|---|---|
| K120 / K121 | Two separate Toyota Direct Shift-CVT models, not one unit with two names. | Which of the two codes is stamped on the casing. Parts for K120 and K121 do not interchange. |
| K313 / K114 / K115 | Three separate Toyota CVT models. | The code on the casing. Do not order K114 or K115 parts against a K313 unit, or the other way round. |
| K110 / K111 / K112 | Three separate Toyota CVT models. | The code on the casing and, where it is printed, the nameplate part number. |
| CTF25 vs 025 / CVT025 | CTF25 is the SAIC / Bosch steel-belt CVT; 025 / CVT025 is the Chery CVT25. Different transmissions from different makers. | Both the code and the vehicle it came from — parts listings that write 'CTF25 / CVT25' in one line are conflating two units. |
Series codes covering several variants
Some catalogue entries are a family rather than a single variant. The family is listed once, and the variants underneath it are quoted separately because their clutch, valve body and control-unit part numbers differ.

| 9HP | 9HP28 / 9HP50 | ZF 9HP nine-speed automatic family |
| 5HP | 5HP18 / 5HP24 / 5HP30 / 01V | ZF 5HP five-speed automatic family |

How to confirm your transmission code
- Photograph the transmission from two or three angles, and the code stamped into the casing.
- Add the vehicle model, year and engine if you have them.
- Send the photos on WhatsApp, or through the enquiry form below.
- We confirm the exact model and variant, then send photos of the actual part in our stock with the price.
The codes we publish as model pages are listed under transmissions by model; the ordering, payment and shipping questions are on the buyer FAQ, and how an item is checked before dispatch is described under quality control.
Questions buyers ask about model codes
Two suppliers quote different codes for the same transmission — which one do I order by?
Order by the code stamped on your own transmission casing, not by the code in the other supplier's list. The first table on this page lists the codes that are genuinely the same unit, so either code reaches the same parts; the second table lists the codes that look similar but are different transmissions.
Are K120 and K121 the same CVT?
No. K120 and K121 are two separate Toyota Direct Shift-CVT models, and their parts do not interchange. Send the code on the casing and we quote against that code only.
Is CTF25 the same as CVT025?
No. CTF25 is the SAIC / Bosch steel-belt CVT, while 025 / CVT025 is the Chery CVT25. They are different transmissions, and a parts listing that writes them in one line is conflating two units.
My code is a series code such as 6HP or 8HP — what do I send you?
Send two or three photos of the unit from different angles and the full code printed on it, for example 6HP26 rather than 6HP. The series entries in the third table cover several variants, and the clutch, valve body and control unit part numbers differ between them.
How do I confirm the code on my transmission?
Photograph the unit from two or three angles and the stamped code on the casing, and add the vehicle model and year. Send them on WhatsApp or through the enquiry form, and we confirm the exact model and version before quoting.
Do you publish every model you can supply?
No. The catalogue lists the models we have documented with our own photos so far. We source across a much wider range of transmission codes, so send yours even if you cannot find it here.
Send the code, get photos and a price
Send the transmission code, two or three photos of the unit or a part number and we reply with the exact model, the condition of the item we offer, the price and the lead time.
Thank you — your enquiry has reached us.
We reply within 24 hours, Monday to Saturday. For anything urgent, message us on WhatsApp.
